DIY : Make Hand-Wash from Soap-Bar at Home

Requirements

  1. Soap Bar
  2. Grater
  3. Pan
  4. Hot Water
  5. Stirrer or Steel Whisker
  6. Rose Water (Optional)
  7. Glycerine (Optional)
  8. Tea Tree Oil (Optional)
  9. Funnel
  10. Soap Dispenser

METHOD

Step 1: Take a bar of soap and grate it into powder or flakes as shown below.

Step 2: Take half-litre of water in a pan. Bring it to boil.

Step 3: Add the powdered soap to the boiling water. Mix well until it is completely dissolved in water, as shown below.

Step 4: Boil the solution for 10 more minutes on medium flame. Keep stirring continuously.

Step 5: Turn off the flame and keep the solution aside to set for 2 hours.

Step 6: After 2 hours, you will notice that the solution has set into a jelly-like texture as shown below.

Step 7: (Optional) Add 4 tablespoon of rose-water, 2 tablespoon of glycerine and 3 drops of tea tree oil to this mixture.

Note: Instead of glycerine any good quality oil can also be used to provide moisturising effect.

Step 8: Pour half litre warm water to this mixture and stir it well with a whisker, until the solution becomes consistent.

Step 9: Keep adding water as per the desired concistency. Mix well.

Step 10: Allow the solution to cool for 30 minutes.

Step 11: Pour the hand-wash in a soap dispenser bottle with the help of a funnel. Your hand-wash is ready to use!
